Great American Media Unveils 20+ Film Projects in Buffalo!

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Great American Media (GAM), established by the former president and CEO of the Hallmark Channel, is set to bring more than 20 films to Buffalo over the next two years.

These nearly two dozen productions will be created at Great Point Studios, which made its debut on Buffalo's West Side last spring.

Robert Halmi, who is behind both the Hallmark Channel and Great Point Studios, is collaborating with Bill Abbott, the founder of Great American Media, to create "high-quality, original movies" right here in the United States.

Abbott expressed that this collaboration aims to elevate standards in film production. The focus is on crafting content that not only entertains but also inspires. He emphasized the commitment to producing these films domestically with individuals who share a passion for authentic storytelling grounded in strong values.

According to GAM, this initiative will generate substantial job opportunities for actors, crew members, and other creatives involved in the filmmaking process.

Prior to launching Great American Media in 2021, Abbott served as president and CEO of Hallmark for over a decade. His new venture is particularly recognized for its heartwarming Christmas films that celebrate themes of faith and family.
